Alison Schroeder, MSW, LICSW



Alison Schroeder, MSW, LICSW holds a Master of Social Work degree from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work and began practicing outpatient psychotherapy in 2008. She began her clinical career in a community mental health setting, and has since worked in an outpatient medical clinic as well as her own private practice, where she worked with adults and specialized in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Most recently, Alison worked in the Master of Social Work program at Salem State University, where she arranged field placements for students and taught the Seminar in Field Education and Psychological Trauma courses. Her clinical areas of interest include depression, anxiety, the transition to parenthood, parenting issues, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Alison’s style is warm, engaging, and practical, and her theoretical orientation is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. She has a certificate for the use of CBT for perinatal emotional complications. She frequently utilizes psychoeducation, skills-building and goal-setting with clients who are eager to get some relief from their distress. She also enjoys practicing longer-term, insight-oriented therapy with clients who seek to identify patterns in their life and relationships. Alison will see clients via TeleHealth only.
