Ari Comart, MEd, MSW, LICSW
Ari Comart, MEd, MSW, LICSW, (he/him/his) brings a passion for community mental health and strengths-based therapy to the practice. He holds an undergraduate degree from Emory University, a Masters in Special Education from George Mason University, and a Masters in Social Work from Boston University. He has worked in a variety of settings with individuals and families, most recently in child and adolescent inpatient psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance.
Ari’s interests in identity and relationships are reflected in a treatment approach that emphasizes rapport, creativity, humor, flexibility, and curiosity. He aims to strengthen the client’s sense of self, and believes that exploring the origins and functions of one’s emotions and behaviors can lead to long-term healing. He draws on both traditional models and more recent evidence-based approaches, including narrative therapy, solutions-focused therapy, mindfulness, CBT, and structural family therapy. He is trained extensively in the Internal Family Systems model. Ari specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief and loss, family-based stressors, and adjustment/transition issues.
