Denise DuChainey, MSW, LICSW

Denise DuChainey, MSW, LICSW (she/her/hers) joins Strong Roots Counseling with a masters in social work from Bryn Mawr College.  She has over twenty-five years of experience in maternal and child health.

 

Denise has been employed in both in-patient and out-patient hospital settings in obstetrics, pediatrics, and NICU. She was most recently at Brigham and Women’s and before that spent twelve years at Mass General Hospital. Her areas of interest include: depression, anxiety, Infertility, postpartum adjustment, transition issues, coping with chronic disease, and bereavement.

Denise is warm, compassionate, empathetic, and interactive with clients. She works from a strengths-based perspective and utilizes a variety of techniques such as motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, CBT, and mindfulness techniques to help clients gain insight into their capacity to grow and change as well as overcome challenges. Denise has also completed a certificate in the use of CBT for the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
