Elianna Apothaker, MSW, LICSW

Elianna Apothaker, MSW, LICSW, (she/her/hers or they/them/theirs) brings a passion for community mental health and strengths-based therapy to Strong Roots Counseling. She holds an undergraduate degree from Goucher College in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from Simmons School for Social Work. Elianna has worked in a variety of settings with individuals and families, most recently doing in-home therapy with children, adolescents, and families, and has also worked with adults in an outpatient practice. 

 

Elianna is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as trauma focused CBT, child centered play therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and has a particular commitment to supporting therapy for folks along the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Elianna has particular interests in supporting people living with depression, anxiety, trauma, and OCD. Elianna has also completed a certificate in the use of CBT for the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
